Saturday 29 Dec painting update lake town or Dale   Leave a comment

I have painted up some warriors of dale using a lake town colour scheme so that I can add to my lake town militia . This will add to my battle of the five armies plans.  The idea being is that these are militia from the laketown warrior force who fled grabbing oilskins and shields from the armoury.

I have also done two warrior of dunlending command using a dark drab colour scheme and corroded armour to fit with the wild men.

Finally Gandalf the white and pippin mounted and on foot.

Painting update completed Knights and Nazgul   Leave a comment

Completed the last three Nazgul and the Foot Knights . Used the same colour scheme and dry brush on the blue as the mounted versions . Have also painted the foot and mounted version of Thranduil using the games Workshop colour scheme . The weapons are very fragile but I was able to drill holes on the hands and carve a pin into the broken swords and re affix them .

Christmas Games at Mike’s with Bruce, Phil, Darryl, Alex and Hannah.

We played Cockroach Poker which Mike lost.  Then Bruce won at Diamant because Phil got too greedy and stayed too long on the mine.  Next we played Codenames which Bruce, Alex and Hannah won 3-0.  Then several rounds of Deception Murder in Hong Kong.  Bruce did best, followed by Alex and then Darryl was the most captured murderer and least successful Investigator.  Lots of fun for Christmas.

Following on from earlier post:

Details and corrections added.  Sepia wash to horses.  Highlights applied to cloth using citadel light blue dry brush paint.  Was a bit uncertain over using that as opposed to highlighting, hopefully looks okay.

Brown added to bases and lances.  Bronze to trumpet.

Next a highlight of chain mail will be reapplied to the metal areas of the armour and tidied up over the flesh on the helmets . The lances will be painted brown . Dark brown . The bases will be painted brown . Graveyard earth brown. Some white will be added as highlights to swan designs and blue where needed to tidy up .

Concentrating on the block colours.  First is chainmail and then Regal Blue followed by flesh.  Two horses will get an off white desert bone coat, then some vermin borown for the saddles.
