Mike played Vlad against Darryl, Alex, Bruce and Phil. Dracula started off as it turned out in the East whilst the players searched Western Europe. He then jumped aboard ship and cycled back. Alex the Doctor at last found him and dealt some damage but suffered a bite. Phil the Mina psychic got pushed back into Geneva and delayed. He then got lost in a thick fog in the balkans. Time was runnng out and the task seemed impossible. Bruce van Helsing traded useful event cards and took out some vampires before they matured.
Dracula took to the sea once again and was chased to northern Italy. He then raced off towards Central Europe. This time some event cards helped the players work out where he might be. Mina attacked him with a heroic leap dealing five damage each and then pursuing him further aided by Darryl and Godalming cornered the fiend.
Using holy bullets godalming dealt hefty damage whilst Mina used a nasty dagger and together they defeated the vampire. With just hours to go before Dracula and his Fury would add further influence the players had won!

Darryl and Phil played War of the Ring, Second Edition, Lords and Warriors of Middle Earth. Darryl chose to play as the Free Peoples of Middle Earth leaving Phil to play Evil.
Game started badly for Good when they were revealed just outside of Rivendell. Witch king the Hunter appeared and dogged their heals all the way to Lorien. Balrog appeared. Saruman appeared. Saruman used voice to muster an army worthy of Isengard. Saruman attacked Rohan quickly.
Fellowship kept Corruption very low indeed. Galadriel appeared. Balrog marched towards Lorien and linked up with a force from Dol Guldur. Learnt that spiders are no use in battle. Elrond appeared.
Helm’s Deep fell and then Rohan was torn apart by Dunlendings and Warg Riders. A mighty Gondor force was mustered and Men of North and Dwarves were soon ready for War. A large force of Sauron’s Orcs mustered at Osgiliath but was held back by a large Gondor Force outside Minas Tirith. So the Southrons and Corsairs were mustered and gathered at Umbar.
Lothlorien fell to a Balrog led attack. It was incredibly close. The Fellowship were at Lothlorien and found themselves closely hunted but still low on corruption. The Southrons sailed to Pelargir and Dol Amroth which soon fell.
Now it was Rohan 3 VP and Lorien 2 VP plus 3 from Gondor. With only two VP left to fall and stuck at Lothlorien the forces of Good called it a day.
This time it was the rapid mobilisation of Saruman and the Hunting prowess of the Witch King which won the day. The Balrog appearing and having the card to activate and then attack Lorien sealed the forces of Good’s fate. Finally the Corsairs had stored cards up all game for a rapid shipboard mobilisation to the South to grab those last quick 3VP whilst the Free Peoples were in disarray following the fall of Lorien and Helm’s Deep.
Forst off Mike introduced Phil Alex DARRYL and Bruce to his new game of Vikings gone wild. It was a four player game so he sat out! Turned out it was quite a long one. Eventually Phil just managed to hold onto a slender lead and pip DARRYL at the post with bruce close behind. Certainly a good game with lots of tactical card play choices and resource management.
Next Phil and Mike played the central powers of Germany and Austria in two fascinating games of quartermaster general World War One. The others definitely found it hard going against the German war machine. Bruce was Uk, DARRYL Russia and Alex France. In both games Strosstruppen proved very strong allowing heavy blows against France. The second game was definitely closer but central powers just made it to the twelve vp lead required for victory before Germany finally ran out of all cards. Obviously a longer game would have been different. Mustard gas in this second game really hurt Russia who was pinned back all the way to Moscow. U.K. Saved Picardy but could not save Paris from occupation via Burgundy. Lots of fun and fascinating as ever. Austria even had an Adriatic fleet which garnered a few VP.
