Lords of Waterdeep

Andy, Mike, Phil, Bruce and Darryl played this for the first time.  Was fun.  Andy took control of the Docks, Bruce was intriguing, Phil acted the Paladin, Darryl lost a wizard to free drinks and  Mike took an early lead and just held on to claim victory at the final count.

Blood, Bilge and Iron Balls

Sailing in the Age of Trafalgar.  Andy set up a sailing game for us based around the pursuit of the French Fleet following their defeat at the Battle of the Nile.  Andy and Mike played as the British and Darryl and Phil as the French.

The French managed to pick off Mike’s squadron before Andy could sail to their rescue.  The French had the luck with the jokers especially against Mike.   By the time Andy arrived Mike had lost two of his three vessels and the third was heavily damaged.  The French had two ships damaged but none were lost and they carried on their journey back to France.

Good rules with neat card drawing machanics and fun dice rolling.  Next time the British will use their famed training superiority to good effect as that is an optional rule that we did not use on this occasion.
