Test game of billhooks with Link.

We learnt that longbowmen are very deadly and can wipe out units of Knights easily. The French managed to survive the arrow storms and when Link ‘s French commander defeated my English Lord in a fight with a matched cavalry charge in the centre it was all over.

Watched some videos after and seems like we played it right.

Hope to play again.

Never mind the bill hooks   Leave a comment

Preparing for Gallia. New rules. The English chevauchee meet the local lord with his retinue backed up with some Genoese mercenaries and very angry militia and some peasants.

The English free company are professional soldiers with some experience of war. They have met little resistance until now and are laden with loot from their adventures which they are determined to defend. It is late in the campaign season and they had been hoping to make it back safely to Calais before the bad weather turns the roads to mud. Under the autumn sun the battle begins.

Star Wars Rising and Guillhotine   Leave a comment

Two good games. Lost first round of Star Wars but came through on the second. However may have used a sketchy tactic in the end game with playing multiple dice on more than one card at a time during the end game. Guillhotine was fun, Phil won thanks to too much red wine!

More figures and terrain painted. Basing will be done later.

The difference between 32mm and 25mm is making me think I need to resize the larger figures for a more consistent size.

Dwarven house from conquest
Elf archer
TPGEO modular halflings
Orc assault craft with moving ramp

Batman Gotham City   Leave a comment

Played a game with Link . Batman and Robin had to deactivate the computers before Hush could steal the gold by opening the vault.

Both heroes rushed forwards ignoring the henchmen and took out Todd . Then Robin released tear gas and hacked a computer . This gas was highly effective against the henchmen. Using its cover the heroes then ran to the far side hacked another computer and used C4 to blow a hole in the wall . Finally Batman got the password from the hostage and deactivated the final computer ignoring the henchmen and getting away from clay face who lumbered in pursuit . Well played Link .
