The English Army are heading towards their lands in Bordeaux laden with booty. They come across a small town blocking their route where the French and their Scots mercenaries are blocking their path. Even the angry peasants have come out to exact their revenge. Heavily outnumbered can the famous longbowmen drive them away. The battlefield is not ideal with narrow paths between hills, fields and woods. However they must not tarry because a larger French force is in pursuit!

Preordered this from TFL and watched their videos. Only really played GdA one once after buying it. Felt a bit outdated so hopefully the new version will work better for me. Really did like the concept.
Bruce entertained us with Source of the Nile. It was okay and certainly lots of fun watching people get stampeded by elephants or attacked by Tribes. My guide got lost and killed one space out of port so I needed some help until I found a river. I would never have moved otherwise. Other than that my botanist did okay.
We learnt that longbowmen are very deadly and can wipe out units of Knights easily. The French managed to survive the arrow storms and when Link ‘s French commander defeated my English Lord in a fight with a matched cavalry charge in the centre it was all over.

Preparing for Gallia. New rules. The English chevauchee meet the local lord with his retinue backed up with some Genoese mercenaries and very angry militia and some peasants.
The English free company are professional soldiers with some experience of war. They have met little resistance until now and are laden with loot from their adventures which they are determined to defend. It is late in the campaign season and they had been hoping to make it back safely to Calais before the bad weather turns the roads to mud. Under the autumn sun the battle begins.
Two good games. Lost first round of Star Wars but came through on the second. However may have used a sketchy tactic in the end game with playing multiple dice on more than one card at a time during the end game. Guillhotine was fun, Phil won thanks to too much red wine!
