Christmas Games Night

Andy, Phil, Izzy, Mike and Bruce played some games.

We started with the Hobbit Card Game (a trick taking game).  Evil Mike and Phil won the first game.  Good Mike, Andy and Bruce the second.

Then we played a game of the French Revolution; Guillotine where Noble Cards were beheaded in bloody revenge.  Andy won that.

Next up were two games of horse racing Giro Galoppo.  Izzy and Andy won a race each and Phil came last twice.

Then we played Bruce’s Nightmare Course in Snow Tails.  Phil started last after his poor showing in racing and had a dreadful start finding his way blocked, suffering damage then careering out of control, veering to the left of the track on a right hand bend.  Izzy raced off first leaving everyone behind and led the race for most of the game with  Bruce and Andy closely following.  Mike was doing well until he ran into a spot of bother (a cliff). This allowed Phil who had actually brought his sled to a full stop earlier to sneak by him. So Izzy won, then Bruce followed by Andy.  Phil was slightly catching up at the end and Mike decided to walk and carry the remains of his sled home.

Finally a quick game of Bluff in which Phil was somehow victorious, probably thanks to a dram of Auchentoshan Whisky.

So all in all a fun set of games played for Christmas.

Algernon Pulls it Off

World War I biplanes using TFL rules and Mike’s excellent miniatures.  Mike and Phil played as Germans, Andy and Bruce as the British.  Mike narrowly missed Andy’s ace as the two squadrons approached and then got behind Bruces chaps as they slowly climbed.  Bruce’s pilot panicked, went into a spin and ended up in the mud.

Meanwhile Phil closed in support with the german Ace and began to tail a british pilot.  However his weapon jammed at the crucial moment.  Andy’s pilot did multiple turns and twists but could not the free of Zimmerframe.  However the german emptied out his entire magazine over the ensuing turns yet could not get in an effective shot.

Phil’s rooky pilot got tailed and could not shake off Bruce’s pilot who first cut his fuel line with a well aimed shot thus priming his target which he then set alight with a further well aimed burst.

Mike’s pilot suffered an engie hit and had to retire for repairs.  His next pilot suffered a nasty wound, blacking out for a short period he quickly recovered control and retired behind the lines.  Finally his last pilot got caught in the sights of Bruce and Andy’s Ace wo soon had him crashing in a spin out of control towards the mud.  Seeing all this Zimmergrame with his guns out of ammo retired.

Well done Andy and Bruce.

Battle of Tridentum

Last week the two 1000 point forces looked impressive but were totally impractical.  So this week two 400 point armies meet outside Tridentum.  Romans vs Visigoths in a battle to capture each others camps.

Super Dungeon Explore

This time the heroes gathered a larger party.  An Ember Wizard, a Druidic Bear, a Barbarian, a Thief and a Pixie Ranger entered the Dungeon.  Working together they were able to defeat the minions and mini-bosses until the Dragon appeared.  Then the deadly heroes powered up with mighty treasures found by the Thief slew the Dragon and made it safely home.
