The final scenario in our campaign. This was based on the Hammer and Forge clearing the tunnels scenario. Four forces of 300 points; two on each side; dwarves versus Goblins.
- The Goblins race and take the high ground which is their scenario requirement. Behind them the shaman and the Leader urge them on.
- Bruce’s Dwarven infantry advance into the main chamber.
- Shaman casts protection from arrows.
- He then moves behind his Troll and the allied infantry.
- Meanwhile the Orc Champion stalks the Lava room.
- The dwarven infantry move to the Goblins.
- The Goblins await the Dwarven attack.
- The Hero Thief races up the ramp and from the shadows launches a slingshot (ambush) scoring an outright wound on the Troll. Ouch!
- The Troll turns as the dwarves easily slaughter the infantry. One is gruesomely slain and the other flees and is killed in panic. The Shaman chooses this moment to botch his spell!
- The fight for the high ground in the cavern.
- The dwarves take the high ground. The Troll is pushed back, wounded.
- The Dwaves move back off the hill and surround the Orc Champion who had engaged the Dwarven Hero expecting a one on one fight.
- Some crazy goblin enters from the bridge.
- The dwarves move off the hill and engage the goblins who have rallied around their leader.
- The wounded Troll is fighting the dwarven hero and the infantry leader dealing bludgeoning blows from his hammer.
- Mike’s dwarves are fighting their way through the remaining goblins.
- The Hero is slain by the Troll but then a gruesome kill causes a panic amongst the goblins and their Troll. The Troll is slain by the mighty dwarven infantry leader whilst attempting to retreat.
- Victory to the Dwarves!
That is a beautiful Dungeon setup you have there. Thank you also for the game report. I will give SoBaH a go very soon and getting a feel for the game in advance is always beneficial.
Thank you, the terrain is from dwarven forge. You will enjoy Song of Blades. For your first games though don’t have anything worse than effective Quality of 3. So either Q4 with a Leader who reduces it to 3 with a bonus when in range or Q3 (or 2) outright. Especially if you are introducing new players as otherwise it won’t be as much fun for them.
